Shree Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir ISSO Blacktown is a vibrant centre that hosts a variety of activities catering to the spiritual, cultural, and community needs of its members. Some of the key activities include:
Children are the seeds of tomorrow, to raise the next generation with a wholesome world view and an understanding of true community spirit – it takes a village! Our Bal Sabha curriculum strives to nurture the values of true Sanatan Dharma (eternal righteousness) and takes pride in exposing our students to the best of Hindu culture.
Every Sunday at 5:30pm, our Gujarati community comes together to become lost in the devotion of bhajans, to listen and understand the truths of kathas followed by wholesome prasad (dinner). This is an opportunity to bring our Swaminarayan community together and give a chance to serve and break from our everyday busy lives.
Yuvika Sabha is an opportunity for women to get together and create stronger bonds of Satsang and understanding. Held every first Friday of the month, Yuvika Sabha helps us detach from everyday responsibilities and increase our knowledge and unity within Satsang.
Shree Swaminarayan Bhagwan emphasized that to live a life with integrity and a social conscience is true Sanatan Dharma. The legacy from our Guru, Acharya Koshalendra Prasadji maharaj that to be “Human First, Then Religious’ is the foundation on what our satsang strives to be.
We take opportunities as a community to participate in humanitarian activities, some of the many activities that we support and actively serve in:
Nar Narayan Dev Yuvak Mandal is a youth project that involves young adults up to the age of 35. This is a platform for youth that are just finding their feet into adulthood to create bonds of friendship, learn the unity of Satsang and strengthen their faith by understanding themselves better.
